My terrible story is on myself as a crappy gift giver. My sister is eight years younger than me and the baby of the family. Needless to say she was spoiled rotten by my mom after my brothers and I moved away (expensive clothes, computer, tv, her own HBO, etc).

Anyway, mom had bought her a car for her 16th birthday and my sister wasted no time running it into fire-hydrants, telephone poles and curbs. Within the course of a year she had thoroughly trashed her car.

While at my mom's with my brothers one night just before her 17th birthday, my boyfriend and I asked my sister what she wanted as a gift and she had the nerve to ask for a...CAR!!

Well, I figured this was time for a lesson. On my sister's birthday we were all at my mom's for a small party. When my sister received my gift it was a set of BMW keys in an envelope. She was shaking and crying, hugging me and my boyfriend.

We blindfolded her and lead her out to the driveway. "Turn on the lights!" I shouted. You should have seen the look on her face when see opened her eyes to a 5 inch model BMW 325i sitting on the pavement in front of the headlights of my car. (She didn't even notice that the set of keys weren't cut!!)

We all had a big laugh at her expense. My sister was pretty pissed, but it was the last time she had the nerve to ask for such an extravagant gift and EXPECT it!!
